The African Media for Agriculture Development (AMAD) is an initiative born out of like minded media practitioners across Africa, in a bid to bridge the gap on food security and empower the African farmer with the latest knowledge in the field of modern farming.
AMAD, is born of these passionate sons and daughters of Africa, with the shared vision that its time for mother Africa to rise to the occasion and take a lead in securing the future of the starving millions across the continent which is endowed with great natural resources beneath her soils.
We as AMAD, believe we can change the trajectory of the poverty smitten Africa to the continent were hope and future of the world food security is premised.
We want to thank Farm Radio International, which gave us the challenge to focus on agriculture, using the only tools we have at our disposal. As media practitioners, the only available strength we have at our disposal is the various Media platforms that we lead or work with, to be turned into the vehicle for Africa’s true hope.
In this short time and with the limited sources, farm radio international, has awakened us to the reality that if we come together as sons and daughters of mother Africa, we can have a turn around of the plight that has been the face of Africa as a poverty stricken and hungry continent to the continent were the world can look up to for it’s food security.
With a very determined and visionary team at AMAD comprised of journalists and Media owners across Africa, we believe its time to take the driving seat and stire ourselves to a greater heights.
Notwithstanding, we also recognise the fact that in order to achieve our shared vision, we need partners of like mindedness to prop us out of the doldrums under which we are stuck.
We believe that if we used our Media platforms across the spectrum, and with the help of other development partners, the sky will not even be the limit.
It’s upon this background that i would appeal to all men and organizations of good intentions for the food security of Africa and the world at larg, to reach out to us for any help they can afford, in order for us to realize our charished vision of each household putting food on the table of her children.
